Most of these are once per character chests

    Timeless Isle Chests
By Simca with assistance from Tziva

This is the more in-depth version of the Timeless Isle Chest Map/Guide that I wrote for the front page. The map on the front page is a slight oversimplification - it includes all the chests, but it doesn't explain exactly how they all work as well. In this expanded version I will cover the details of the looting mechanisms of the chests, include a step-by-step guide withTomTom macros, and a long list at the end for use by TomTom users who also run Paste. I expect this guide will primarily be used by the following three groups of people:
    • People who want to get an advantage on the day of the patch release
    • People who are doing it for the n-th time on their alts
    • People who are having trouble finding one last chest (it took me 3 hours to find the last three chests I was missing)

    Why are these chests important?
One of the chests on the map below (marked with a 7) contains a [IMG]Burden of Eternity, which you can use to obtain an itemlevel 535 item. Additionally, you can fill out all of your specs with itemlevel 496 gear; you will receive a ton of it following this guide/map. Check out last week's Monday post for more details on Timeless Isle Armor.

These chests are linked to achievements as well. Finding all of the 'one-time' chests (all of the chests on the map marked with numbers) will net you the achievement [IMG]Treasure, Treasure Everywhere. If you loot both Weekly chests and the eastern-most Daily chest (all three are pirate-themed), you will receive the achievement [IMG]Where There's Pirates, There's Booty, and you can receive the achievement [IMG] Extreme Treasure Hunter for getting the other three Daily chests.

What loot do I get from these chests, exactly?
I will cover that in the legend below. First, it appears that the loot from chests is catered mostly if not entirely to your spec/class, so you will only find Leather tokens on a Rogue from these chests. Mobs do not have the same rules, so they can drop any kind of BoA armor type. Also, know that the asterisks in the legend mean that the first chest you open of that 'chest type' will contain additional loot. For example, the first "Tier 1 Group 1" chest you open will -always- contain an epic, even though finding epic tokens normally is pretty rare for a "Tier 1 Group 1" chest. This "first chest of its kind gets more loot" rule is the reason that the map/legend here is slightly more complicated than the front page's version. On the front page, I made the groups up by common sense. In this thread, I will use the groups that Blizzard uses.
    • Tier 1 Group 1 ("1")*: These chests are located on the north-west/west coast of the Timeless Isle and have the name "Moss-Covered Chest". They contain a very small amount of Timeless Coins and can sometimes contain an epic token.
    • Tier 1 Group 2 ("2")*: These chests are located on the south-west/south coast of the Timeless Isle and have the name "Moss-Covered Chest". They also contain a very small amount of Timeless Coins and can sometimes contain an epic token.
    • Tier 1 Group 3 ("3")*: These chests are located near Mossgreen Lake, in Red Stone Run, and in Whispershade Hollow in the middle and middle-eastern parts of the Timeless Isle. They still have the name "Moss-Covered Chest", but their loot is better than the previous groups' loot. They contain a lot more Timeless Coins, but they still appear to have the same (rather low) chance at an epic.
    • Tier 1 Group 4 ("4")*: These chests are located near the bottom of the cliffs north and northeast of Firewalker Ruins in the middle and middle-eastern parts of the Timeless Isle. They still have the name "Moss-Covered Chest". Their loot is the same as Group 3 - not amazing, but significantly better than Group 1 and Group 2.
    • Tier 2 ("5")*: These chests are located in hard to reach places and have many different names. The western two of them are on top of cliffs and only accessible by Albatross. Another two are in caves, and the final one is an area densely populated by deadly frogs. These chests all contain a few hundred Timeless Coins and multiple epic tokens.
    • Tier 3 ("6")*: These chests are located in the middle of groups of Ordos yaungol and have the name "Smouldering Chest". They contain several hundred Timeless Coins and multiple epic tokens.
    • Blazing Chest ("7"): This 'ultimate' chest, the Blazing Chest, is located in the western part of the Ordos Sanctuary and can be tricky to reach due to the large amount of high-level elites in the area. The chest contains a medium amount of Timeless Coins, a few epic tokens, and a guaranteed [IMG] Burden of Eternity. This is one of the only ways to obtain a Burden of Eternity that doesn't involve luck, making this chest very important (and likely heavily farmed).
    • Daily ("D"): As the name implies, these chests can be looted once per day, unlike the majority of the island's chests. All of them are in places that require effort (and even some platforming skills) to reach. Additionally, they all drop Lesser Charms of Good Fortune in addition to a medium amount of Timeless Coins and a possible epic token.
    • Weekly ("W"): As the name implies, these chests can be looted once per week, unlike the majority of the island's chests. Both of these chests are underwater and require a bit of fighting to reach - one even requires a key from the mobs around it. Additionally, they both drop large amounts of Lesser Charms of Good Fortune in addition to a medium amount of Timeless Coins and a possible epic token. The southern-most Weekly chest also will contain a [IMG] Cursed Swabby Helmet the first time you open it.

    Step-by-Step Guide with TomTom Macros

To use the macros in this guide, you must have TomTom installed. Simply select the text in the "code" block for each section and press CTRL+C, then go into WoW, type /m and hit "New" to create a new macro. Name the macro whatever and leave the icon blank (doesn't matter), and then press CTRL+V in the text box there to paste the code into the macro. Hit save and drag the macro to your bar somewhere and click it. Clicking the macro should add all of the waypoints in that section to your map, and afterwards, you can remove the macro.

    Tier 1 Group 1 ("1")*

Alright, we're going to begin our journey in the NW part of the Timeless Isle, slightly NE of the Horde camp. Pick up all of the chests marked with a "1" on the map above using the waypoint macro below. A few of the sneakier chests include the northernmost "1", which is behind a rock on a very small ledge near the water, and the one directly southwest of that (obscuring the letters in the word "Huojin" on the map), which is located underwater in the middle of several Ancient Spineclaws. Three "1" chests are also located on top of tree stumps, so you may have to zoom your camera back a bit to see them.

    Tier 1 Group 2 ("2")*

After gathering all of the "1" chests, begin on the "2" chest NW of the Alliance camp. Afterwards, follow the chain of "2" chests along the cliff wall and along the southern shore. Note that three of the chests are in houses in Old Pi'jiu, one is underwater at the base of the docks south of Old Pi'jiu, and one is underneath a Death Adder mob slightly west of Old Pi'jiu.

    /way 22.2, 68

    Tier 1 Group 3 ("3")*

Head NE towards Mossgreen Lake from Old Pi'jiu, but make a bit stop along the way at a tree stump near yet another Death Adder mob - the first "3" chest is on top of the tree stump. The next "3" chest is at the bottom of Mossgreen Lake, slightly north of the lake's center. Head straight north from the lake and you will run into another "3", and after that, just walk E/NE as much as possible, hugging the northern cliff wall. You will find all of the remaining "3" chests are near trees or rocks, and all but one are guarded by multiple tigers.

    Tier 1 Group 4 ("4")*

I've included one of the Group 1 chests in this macro list - the far, far southeast "1". It is extremely inconvenient to get it before now, so I recommend picking it up after you finish with the rest of the "4" chests. All of these chests are pretty obvious, though, like the "3" chests, they are typically surrounded by mobs. They are around the eastern and southern sides of the cliffs, just like the mirror opposite of the "3" chests. Note that the far southeast "1" is in the cargo hold of a sunken ship.

    Tier 2 ("5")*

I recommend starting with the easternmost "5" and moving on from there. It is located in the middle of the Gulp Frogs' area, but their aggro range is low enough that this actually isn't very difficult to get. Even if you die, the graveyard at Whispershade Hollow is very close and you can just corpse run back and resurrect next to the chest.

The next chest is tricky to explain because I don't know how it will work on Live servers. Currently, on the PTR, there is a tiny 1-room cave called the "Mysterious Den". However, it is blocked off by a cave-in. Inside the cave, there is a hammer to break the cave-in, and outside the cave there is a Tattered Note saying to go to the temple grounds and get a weapon. I believe that the hammer on the inside is to get out if you get stuck, and that the hammer outside the cave (at the temple grounds I guess) is not yet implemented. The way people are getting this on the PTR is having a Mage use Blink or a Druid use Displacer Beast because the rocks aren't properly blocking LoS.

The third chest is rather easy. First, enter the "Cavern of Lost Spirits", which is located N/NE of The Celestial Court. Next, just head through the cave a ways and look for it on your left on a rise. It's pretty hard to miss.

The last two chests are best got at the same time. Head to the west entrance to The Celestial Court and look up. Every 30 seconds or so (it varies based on player activity), a Highwind Albatross will pass over this spot, and be within 30 yards for a few seconds (one of the few spots on the Isle where this is true). Throw something at it and then immediately stop attacking. It will pick you up and carry you while it returns to its normal route. To get off, just attack it again and it will start a battle that will end with you being ejected (either dead or alive based on if you win or lose, of course). These Albatrosses fly in the same pattern constantly around the Isle, so don't fear getting stranded - another Albatross will be along shortly (just watch the range). Anyway, the first thing you will pass over is a giant cliff, located NE of the Alliance camp. You will see the chest sticking out plain as day, so attack your bird when it flies over the cliff (don't do it too soon or too late). After getting the chest, tag another Albatross and let it take you away again. This is the long part. The Albatross will carry you all the way around the island in a counterclockwise direction, so after around 5 minutes, you will pass over the cliff NE of the Horde camp, where the final "5" chest is located.

Check out the WoWDB page for Highwind Albatross to see a very accurate display of their flight route. Note that you can currently bypass the need for an Albatross by mounting up in fatigue waters, flying up stupidly high, and throwing yourself at the zone-border to dismount, and using a goblin glider from engineering or the new [IMG]Golden Glider item available for 2500 Timeless Coins at The Celestial Court from Ku-Mo.

    Tier 3 ("6")* and Blazing Chest ("7")

As I did once before, I included one of the earlier chests (a "3") in this section instead of its group's section. Why? Because it is in the Ordos Sanctuary, and the only other time you have to go there is right now, of course! But we're getting ahead of ourselves. First, head out due east from Old Pi'jiu towards the Firewalker Ruins. In the main "ruins" section there, you will find your first of the two "6" chests right in the middle of the camp, guarded by a pair of Ordon elites. They aren't too difficult to solo, especially if pulled separately and their abilities are dodged properly, but it may be hard to avoid aggroing all of the other mobs near the chest. Personally, I just threw myself at the chest, used an AoE CC, looted it, and ran screaming. This is a viable strategy for most classes since it can be done with either an AoE CC or an invisibility effect (unstealth/un-invis near the chest and loot it before they can hit you in time). Afterwards, head across the bridge into The Blazing Way, and hit up the other "6" chest in the ruins there, which are located in the NE corner.

Afterwards, head up to the plateau where the Ordon Sanctuary is located. While entry across the main bridge is a non-option for most users, you can use the Highwind Albatross or [IMG]Golden Glider as suggested above. Additionally, at least on PTR, you can simply enter the Cavern of Lost Spirits and die to mobs. You will respawn up at the Ordon Sanctuary at a spot like 10 yards from the chest, literally. If you didn't die to get there, then look for the lake on the eastern part of the Ordon Sanctuary - the last "3" chest is INSIDE a small grey statue there. It is incredibly hard to find and hard to click. I recommend looking at the screenshot I posted on its page, Moss-Covered Chest, if you are having problems finding or clicking it.

From this spot, head south to the edge of the cliff (don't jump), and then head west along the outside edge of the Ordon Sanctuary. Attempting to enter the main courtyard of the Ordon Sanctuary without a legendary cloak will teleport back to The Celestial Court, so be careful not to enter the front entrance. After hugging the side for a long while (and either fighting or avoiding a lot of mobs... you can corpse run repeatedly if needed), you will come upon an entrance from the west into the western part of the Ordon Sanctuary. This area is separate from the main courtyard (which contains the world boss Ordos). It contains a few rares and the chest we want. You should see it at the very back, with a Molten Guardian on each side. Simply run up and claim it because the Guardians are just out of aggro range (though watch the other mobs). Victory!

    Weekly ("W")

This section of the guide is a bit separate - I'm going to assume you are at the Alliance/Horde camp right now. Head to the halfway point on the beach between the two camps, and you will see an icon on your map to the west for the first chest. Swim out past the icon until the ocean shelf drops off, and then enter the underwater cavern visible at that point. Inside, fight off the Spectral Pirates and open the chest.

The other weekly chest is located straight south of the words "Old Pi'jiu" on the map. It is represented on the map by the picture of a wrecked ship. Upon arriving at the sunken ship, you will find lots of hostile Cursed Hozen Swabbys. Kill them until you receive a [IMG]Barnacle Encrusted Key. Note that they have a frontal cone attack that you should definitely move out of, but for some reason they don't indicate this with a cast bar, so watch their animation carefully. Also, don't forget to go up for air if you need it and don't have a Damaged Diving Helmet! After getting the key, head to the bottom floor of the sunken ship, and look under the stairs to find and open the Sunken Treasure.

    /way 22.6, 58.8 Underwater entrance west
    /way 40.4, 93 Needs key

    Also weekly NOT daily

The first daily chest is the far eastern one, out on the pirate ship: Gleaming Treasure Satchel. You will need to clear out the pirates on the ship, and this could be difficult if you are heavily undergeared since they pull in packs of 3-4 and have a few million HP each, so I really just recommend avoiding this chest if you don't have the gear - there's nothing worth dying for. Additionally, this is also the hardest platforming one, in my opinion at least. Head to the area with the ship's wheel (and captain, possibly) and walk up the piece of rope on the right-hand side (you can probably use the left-hand rope if you're a Gnome or Goblin). Near the end of the rope, you must jump to the mast and walk across it to the Satchel. The jump from the rope to the mast is the hardest part - you will always overshoot if you do it at the very end of the rope, so go to the end of the rope, stand like 5-10 yards back, and jump for it. Alternatively, you can go to the end of the rope, and attempt to just walk off it and land on the mast. This is still tricky though.

The next three chests involve running up into the Firewalker Ruins/The Blazing Way areas repeatedly. For the first one,Gleaming Treasure Chest, head up into the Firewalker Ruins and take an immediate left after heading through the arch - look out over the cliff and you'll see a series of pillars. Stay on your mount and jump carefully from pillar to pillar. You need the speed boost from your mount to make the jumps, and they're actually fairly simple if done while mounted. At the end, loot the chest and jump down.

For Rope-Bound Treasure Chest, head back up into the Firewalker Ruins, proceed through it and across the bridge into The Blazing Way, and right before the next bridge, look to your right and you will see a series of ropes. Drop down to the large "peg" that the highest rope is tied to and begin your tightrope walk! I have an image walkthrough in the comments on the chest's WoWDB page, so check that out for a much better look at what you have to do.

The final daily "chest" is not really a chest at all... it is more like a minigame to loot as many chests as fast as possible! Head up into the Firewalker Ruins, cross the bridge into The Blazing Way, and take to head out to the small cliff with only two bridges on it. Here you will sometimes find a Gleaming Crane Statue. Interact with the statue you will be teleported a thousand yards up into the air and given a slow fall buff. You will see tons of chests on floating cloud platforms, and the race is on! Loot as many as you can, though you only need to loot one complete the achievement criteria.

    /way 54, 47.2 Drop from hanging ropes
    /way 49.8, 69.4 Hop across pillars

I didn't read this, but doesn't this directly go against the point of the Timeless Isle? lol

So will I be competing heavily to loot some chests or are they all sort of tagged/zoned for each person?

heres an updated blue post on it

It’s dawn and something just doesn’t feel right. It’s almost as if the axis of Azeroth wobbled a bit overnight, and this time it had nothing to do with me smackin’ Oondasta upside the head. I have an uneasy feeling, and if you know me, I won’t stop until I’ve figured out what the problem is, found a way to resolve it, and made sure someone went home crying. You like my style, don’t you?

Well, whaddya know? I’ve just entered the Vale of Eternal Blossoms and can feel my journal rustling about inside my satchel. It appears a mysterious person has magically scribbled a note titled “A Flash of Bronze” and that I’m to seek out my old friend Chromie. As much as I like to flirt with cute little gnomes who can gnaw my face off, I opt to avoid long conversation and put these uneasy feelings to rest. She hands me a Curious Bronze Timepiece which I quizzically ponder for a moment: I guess there’s no harm in me using its powers to see what happens. I’ll just hold it in one hand and wave the other over the top, and . . . *FWOOSH*

Now see, according to my Gnomish Army Knife’s compass and my calculations of the stars that have suddenly appeared above, I’m southeast of the Jade Forest on what I’m being told is Tushui Landing on the Timeless Isle. Hmmm, this wasn’t here yesterday when I swam by doing my daily laps around Pandaria. Methinks a challenge is afoot! And it goes without saying—but I’ll say it anyway—my existence and the glory of my presence must be felt by every living creature on this planet. So off I go!

I’m not on the Isle for two seconds before I notice an Ancient Spineclaw giving me the crook-eye. To arms, you clot! I engage in battle with the angry crustacean, who actually scratches my precious armor with its Claw Flurry. Unacceptable! Following a mighty swing of my hammer, it lets out a screech and keels over. Much to my surprise and delight, however, it’s carrying a new kind of currency I’ve never seen before: Timeless Coins! And as if that wasn’t sweet enough, it’s even coughed up a Lesser Charm of Good Fortune. Cha-ching!

No time to admire things that aren’t quite as impressive as I am: With gusto, I head off deeper into the forest away from the Timeless Shore in search of more challenging adventures. Felling limbless reptiles, rabid cranes, and really angry yaks, I discover the Celestial Court. It’s surrounded by denizens of Pandaria, vendors, hozen, and—oh look—there’s Chen and Li Li Stormstout! And there’s the infamous Fo Sho Knucklebump, and the Monkey King, Old Hillpaw, and wow, even Ling of the Six Pools! She’s a legend around Icecrown for her love of cheese.

    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

That’s when I happen upon Master Li. He offers me the opportunity to face some of my fellow champions in an epic Pet Battles tournament, and I happily accept. Wrathion, Blingtron 4000, Shademaster Kiryn . . . all of them fall to my remarkable team. Can you feel it?!

Up next are the children of the Celestials, which—if I may say so myself—are quite impressive. Sadly, not as impressive as me! Down they go, one by one, and I’m rewarded with a few Celestial Coins. Turns out, Master Li also holds these same children as pets I’m able to adopt, and since I showed them who’s boss in the arena, I choose Yu’la, Broodling of Yu’lon. Come on, who wouldn’t want a dragon to follow them around?!

Directly west of my position I can smell hops and barley, but it really isn’t all that pleasant. In fact, it’s rather more like Eau de Highlands Skunk. I turn and head into Old Pi’jiu where I find several Skunky Brew Alementals. Skunky . . . who’d a thunk it? Smashin’ and dashin’, I lay waste to these stinky beings only to fill up a giant cask summoning Zhu-Gon the Sour, an even bigger stinky being. Heh, not a problem. KAPOW! SMASH! BOOM! Down it goes, and in the stain it leaves on the grass? My very own Skunky Alemental pet! I may mix up my team now . . . stop it, Grizzle, I’m kidding!

Whew, this adventuring is almost making me tired. I said almost! And that’s when I hear it. Bleating. Pathetic, miserable noises that can only be categorized as bleating because really, aren’t yaungol just a bunch of sheep? Especially the ones around the Firewalker Ruins. Just as I’m about to smite a whole village of these flea-bitten mongrels, I notice a really big chest tucked behind the wall. STOMP! With the yaungol all stunned, I quickly open the chest and go back to finishing each of them off. When the fracas is all said and done, I realize I’ve collected some sort of epic loot! It’s just an item, but the inscription tells me I can create a piece of armor if I were to channel its power. New kicks for Payne!

Seriously, the amount of land to cover and creatures to lay waste to is far too immense to even explain. I won’t even begin to tell you about Ordos and why flaming bits of him are stuck to my shield. Let’s just say I’ve made this island my—ouch! One of the yaungol’s fleas bit me and now I have an itch. Anyway, my tales tend to cause minds to melt very quickly, so I’ll leave you with this: Whispershade Hollow, Red Stone Run, the Blazing Way, the Cavern of Lost Spirits, a mysterious floating skull, and a ghostly world riddled with chests. There are countless events, encounters, smelly animals, and delicious noms for you to enjoy. SO GET MOVIN’!!

The Timeless Isle is a new island added off the coast of the Jade Forest in Patch 5.4.0. The Bronze Dragonflight discovered the island recently and sent people to investigate. All players logging in for the first time in Patch 5.4 will receive the quest A Flash of Bronze… (Alliance / Horde) to talk to Chromie. She will give you a one-use item that allows you to teleport to the Timeless Isle. You may want to pick up the flight point right after getting there, otherwise you'll have to fly back through fatigue waters to reach the island in the future.

    [IMG] [IMG]

While there are a handful of quests on the Timeless Isle, the majority of its interesting content is actually just the island itself. It houses several varied environments with many different types of creatures, including tigers, elemental giants, Yaungol, elemental spirits, ghostly Pandaren, turtles, serpent dragons, Hozen, crabs, frogs, and pirates. The Timeless Isle features over 25 rare creatures, multiple rare events, 45+ unique treasure chests, a new faction (Shaohao), and 5 brand new World Bosses, all of which give loot.

Four of the new World Bosses are the Celestials of Pandaria themselves: Chi-Ji, Niuzao, Xuen, and Yu'lon. They all share a loot table, so you can kill any one of them for your chance at loot each week. Defeating all four Celestial world bosses is also required for the quest The Emperor's Way, which is one of the final steps of the legendary cloak questline. All four Celestials are located near the vendors and questgivers in the Celestial Court at the center of the Timeless Isle.

Every 5-10 minutes, a Celestial will become attackable, and players will often form a raid to attack it, either for the loot or the credit for the legendary quest. They are faction-tagged, so anyone of the tagging faction can get credit from any damage or healing dealt. The strategy for all four is similar: they all have AoE attacks that the players need to avoid or heal through. If the damage is not avoided, it will likely result in death, but you only need a few skilled players to secure a kill. Even if the majority of the raid dies on every AoE attack, your group will still likely succeed.

The fifth world boss, Ordos, is much more exclusive. To access him, players must have the legendary cloak on at least one of the characters on their account. He has a unique loot table and higher ilvl loot than the Celestials. Ordos is also designed to be much more difficult than the Celestials and is tuned to be a "heroic world boss", much like pre-nerf Oondasta. Ordos has been disabled for almost all of the PTR testing, but the one time he was available, he was zergable if you had a large enough group.

There is a new reputation in Patch 5.4.0 that can only be earned on the Timeless Isle: "Emperor Shaohao". The player is introduced to Emperor Shaohao by Kairoz via the quest The Last Emperor, which players will obtain shortly after arriving on the Timeless Isle. The primary way to gain Emperor Shaohao reputation is to kill the Ordon Yaungol who live on the Timeless Isle. They all give reputation, but the stronger Ordon give more reputation than the weaker ones. Ordon rare mobs give the most reputation; they are Archiereus of Flame, Champion of the Black Flame, Flintlord Gairan, Jakur of Ordon, Urdur the Cauterizer, and Watcher Osu.

There is also a small quest line for Emperor Shaohao, including a daily quest (though the daily doesn't give rep). This quest chain is a branch off of the main Timeless Isle quest line that occurs after the quest Time In Your Hands.

    1. The Last Emperor
    2. Timeless Nutriment
    3. Wayshrines Of The Celestials
    4. Drive Back The Flame & Path of the Mistwalker (Daily)
    5. The Archiereus Of Flame

There is also a Battle Pet tournament located on the Timeless Isle called the Celestial Tournament. This scenario is especially difficult because you are not allowed to heal your pets, which means that you must use many different teams of pets to achieve victory since your pets will likely not survive more than a single Pet Battle against these tough opponents. To enter, you must have at least thirty level 25 Battle Pets and the achievement Fabled Pandaren Tamer.

After you meet the requirements, talk to Master Li, accept the weekly quest The Celestial Tournament, and queue for the scenario by talking to the NPC again. The scenario is split into two stages. In Stage 1, you must defeat three random Pet Tamers. As this scenario is weekly, defeating all possible Pet Tamers will take multiple weeks, but you will earn the achievement Master of the Masters. In Stage 2, you must defeat the four offspring of the Celestials themselves. They are Legendary Elite pets, and you will have to use your entire team to defeat them.

You will receive a [IMG] Celestial Coin as a reward for the weekly quest, and you will get an additional two [IMG] Celestial Coins from the one-time quest The Rainy Day is Here. The main rewards are Battle Pet versions of the four Celestials you fought: [IMG] Chi-Chi, Hatchling of Chi-Ji, [IMG] Xu-Fu, Cub of Xuen, [IMG] Yu'la, Broodling of Yu'lon, and [IMG]Zao, Calfling of Niuzao. They cost three [IMG] Celestial Coins each. There are other minor rewards available, but the Celestial Battle Pets are by far the best and the others are just for after you already have all four.

    Timeless Isle Events
The Timeless Isle also includes several unique events that occur periodically.

Dread Ship Vazuvius must be first summoned with a [IMG] Mist-Filled Spirit Lantern. The Lantern drops from Evermaw and has a 1 hour duration. It must be used in the far NW area of the Timeless Isle, a subzone called "The Misty Strand", at the Cursed Gravestone. When the Dread Ship is summoned, Dread Captain Genest will do a zone-wide yell, which should get the attention of interested players and give you some much needed backup, as this fight is very difficult to solo.

In the waters south of the Firewalker Ruins, occasionally an event called the "Battle of the Barnacle" will begin. Captain Zvezdan and his drowned crew will face off in their sunken ship against Rattleskew and the traitorous crewmates that were ultimately responsible for the ship's demise. After defeating a few waves of Rattling Mariners, the rare NPC Rattleskew will spawn and attack you. He's easy to kill, especially with the nearby friendly ghost pirates supporting you.

Really Skunky Beer is an event located in the center of Old Pi'jiu. Occasionally, the cask will spawn in the middle of the village, stunning all of the nearby ghostly Pandaren and summoning Skunky Brew Alementals and Skunked Kegs. Killing either a Skunky Brew Alemental or a Skunked Keg adds to a counter that tracks 10 "Skunky Leaks". After the counter hits 10, all of the adds will die and a rare creature called Zhu-Gon the Sour will spawn.

    [IMG] [IMG]

Zarhym Altogether is the name of an event and subsequent achievement located in the Cavern of Lost Spirits on the Timeless Isle. The reward for completing the event is a equivalent to the loot from a Timeless Isle rare creature: a few hundred Timeless Coins and a chance at an epic. After talking with Zarhym, he transports you to the Spirit World and tells you to avoid the Timeless Spirits while seeking his body at the back of the cave. Along the way, you can also gather some loot from Spirit Chests.

For the most part, dodging the Timeless Spirits is straightforward. If they aggro on you, they will start a 5-second channel called Spirit Strangle that slows you and will remove you from the Spirit World on completion. You can break the cast with immunity cooldowns or by outranging the spirit, though that can be tricky because of the slow. The last two spirits right next to Zarhym's Body can be very tricky and require tight timing or the use of the earlier mentioned cooldowns.

Slightly southeast of the Celestial Court, there is a large tree surrounded by Nice Sprite and large green crystals called Everlasting Spritewood (link). Once a day, you can find a large purple crystal called Neverending Spritewood against nearby cliff walls. After using the purple crystal, you will gain a debuff called Crystal Breaker, and all nearby Nice Sprites will become Angry Sprites.

After killing several Angry Sprites, a Scary Sprite, a rare creature who can drop a pet, will appear. Because the debuff only lasts one minute, you have to pull and kill lots of sprites to summon the rare before the debuff rare fades. Note also that the rare must also -die- before the time is up or he will just despawn. This means you'll need damage reduction cooldowns for the large amount of damage you'll be taking, and you'll want to use your burst cooldowns when the Scary Sprite actually spawns or for powerful AoE.

    Timeless Isle Rare Spawns
There are a massive amount of rare creatures on the Timeless Isle: 32 in total! Rare creatures respawn very rapidly on the Timeless Isle. However, after your first kill on a specific rare, you can only get loot from that specific rare once more per day. In some cases, such as if the rare mob is summoned by an event, you may be even phased from seeing it if you have killed it already that day. Almost all of the rare creatures on the Timeless Isle use fully-shared tags, so Alliance and Horde can both receive credit for a kill.

Most of the rare creatures drop unique vanity items (see Vanity Items page) at a low rate, and they all drop several hundred Timeless Coins (link) and a guaranteed [IMG]Epoch Stone for the weekly quest Empowering the Hourglass. Additionally, killing rare creatures is the objective of another weekly quest on the Timeless Isle calledStrong Enough To Survive. If you needed yet another incentive to kill rare creatures, there is also an achievement to kill all of the rare creatures that the Timeless Isle has to offer, Timeless Champion.

    [IMG] [IMG]

Several of the rare animals on the isle spawn based on the death of other animals of the same family. For example, when a Death Adder dies and its respawn is up, there is a chance that a rare Imperial Python may spawn in its place. The rare creatures that function like this are: Emerald Gander spawns randomly in place of cranes, Great Turtle Furyshell spawns randomly in place of turtles, Imperial Python spawns randomly in place of snakes, Ironfur Steelhorn spawns randomly in place of yaks, andMonstrous Spineclaw spawns randomly in place of crabs.

It is also worth noting that there seems to be no respawn cooldown on these rares; getting them to spawn is pure chance. You can even fight and kill two of the same rares at once!

    1. Dread Ship Vazuvius: Must be summoned; see events section for more details
    2. Chelon: Spawns under odd circumstances (see below)
    3. Spirit of Jadefire: Has multiple spawn locations in this area; found underground in a cave
    4. Rock Moss: Found underground in a cave
    5. Tsavo'ka
    6. Spelurk: Spawns under odd circumstances (see below)
    7. Golganarr
    8. Bufo: Has multiple spawn locations in this area
    9. Stinkbraid
    10. Battle of the Barnacle (Event): Rattleskew spawns at the end of the event; see events section for more details
    11. Cranegnasher: Spawns under odd circumstances (see below)
    12. Really Skunky Beer (Event): Zhu-Gon the Sour spawns at the end of the event; see events section for more details
    13. Karkanos: Spawns under odd circumstances (see below)
    14. Gu'chi the Swarmbringer: Spawns with a ring of Spotted Swarmers and patrols around Old Pi'jiu
    15. Zesqua: Spawns with a ring of Playful Water Spirits
    16. Jakur of Ordon
    17. Watcher Osu
    18. Huolon: Patrols the air around The Blazing Way in a very large area
    19. Champion of the Black Flame: Patrols up and down the road; three of these rares spawn at once!
    20. Leafmender: Has multiple spawn locations in this area
    21. Cinderfall
    22. Flintlord Gairan: Has multiple spawn locations in this area
    23. Urdur the Cauterizer: Has multiple spawn locations in this area
    24. Archiereus of Flame: Has multiple spawn locations in this area; requires Legendary cloak on one toon to enter Ordon Sanctuary
    25. Garnia: Can only be reached via Golden Glider or Highwind Albatross

As many rare creatures have been included as were possible on the above map, but the rare animals that spawn all over based on the death of normal animals of the same family are not included. These are listed in the paragraph above the map. Additionally, Evermaw was not included. Evermaw patrols the water around literally the entire island.

    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Some rare creatures on the Timeless Isle spawn neither via events or via standard methods. Chelon is summoned when a user clicks on the Conspicuously Empty Shell.Cranegnasher requires a player to find a Fishgorged Crane corpse and drag a living Fishgorged Crane from the beach over the corpse, at which point Cranegnasher will jump the player and eat the Fishgorged Crane. Karkanos is summoned by talking to Fin Longpaw when he is at the docks south of Old Pi'jiu. Spelurk is summoned by shattering the rocks blocking entrance to the Mysterious Den. Currently, the only known way to do this is to use Blink (Mage) or Displacer Beast (Druid) to go straight through the rocks, pick up the Rock-breaking Hammer on the inside of the cave, and break the rocks from the inside. There is probably another way to do it though, as this does not sound intentional.

You can track these rares using their IDs and the addon NPCScan. The NPCScan author may update for 5.4, but if he does not, you can also add the rares and track them by achievement. Copy and paste the contents of this link's text into your _NPCScan\_NPCScan.lua file, replacing everything already inside it. That should make it so that all Patch 5.2 and 5.4 rares are tracked automatically.

    1.1. Accessing the Island
The island can be accessed by flying from the Jade Forest. Note that flying mounts do not work on the island, so you will be dismounted as you approach. While doing the introductory quest line for the island, you will be able to teleport there using the [IMG] Curious Bronze Timepiece that you will have been given.

As you can see in the map above, most of the island can be accessed without any difficulty. We highlighted 3 areas that will require you to perform something special, in order to reach them.

    • Blue. As you can see on the map, the bridge leading to the Ordon Sanctuary is broken. As a result, you will need to resort to other means to enter this area.
      • You can use the Gleaming Crane Statue, which is located on the rocky pillar that joins the bridge leaving from the Blazing Way to the broken bridge. Using the statue will catapult you in the air and you will be able to control your descent. This statue is normally meant to be used to access a chest for one of the achievement, but you can reach the Ordon Sanctuary if you aim your descent towards it.
      • From the very end of the broken bridge, it is possible to slow fall to a patch of grass, which is located slightly to the left of the remaining part of the bridge on the Ordon Sanctuary side. You need to mount and jump towards the patch of grass. Immediately after you jump, cast [IMG] Slow Fall on yourself (or use any similar effect; the [IMG] Golden Glider sold by Ku-Mo around the Celestial Court works well) or have it cast on you.
      • The island features a number of Highwind Albatrosses that fly at varying altitudes. When one of them gets close to the ground (that usually happen around the Celestial Court), attacking it will cause it to capture you and fly you around the island, following a predefined path. When you want the Albatross to drop you, attack it again and it will stop moving. Kill it and it will release you.
      • If you swim far enough from the island, you will reach the Time-Lost Waters. There, you can use your flying mount. So, go north of the island and mount up. Once mounted, go as far up as you can and then fly towards the Ordon Sanctuary. Eventually, you will dismount, which is when you should use a Slow Fall effect on you, in order to reach your objective. Note that this trick can work to reach any other high place on the island.
    • Yellow. The Red Lake can only be accessed using an Albatross or the flying mount trick. We described both ways above.
    • Red. The central part of the Ordon Sanctuary can only be accessed by players who have completed the Mists of Pandaria legendary quest line and obtained the legendary cloak. Players without the cloak will simply be ported back to the Celestial Court, in the center of the island, when they try to enter the sanctuary.
    1.2. Faction
The only faction on the island is Emperor Shaohao and the only way to farm reputationwith him is to kill Ordon mobs.

    1.3. Currencies
There are 3 currencies that you can use on the island: [IMG] Timeless Coins, [IMG] Celestial Coins, and [IMG] Bloody Coins.

[IMG] Timeless Coins are the primary currency on the Timeless Isle. Every mob, quest, chest, and object on the island will grant you some. There is no limitation to how many coins you can earn in a single day or a single week, so you can farm them to your heart's content. Timeless Coins can be used to buy rewards (see next section).

[IMG] Celestial Coins are related to the Celestial Tournament, a weekly pet-battle scenario you can do on the island that rewards you with 1 Celestial Coin. These coins can be used to buy pet-battle related rewards.

[IMG] Bloody Coins are obtained by doing PvP and PvA on the island. Each time you kill another player, you will be awarded 1 Bloody Coin. After collecting enough coins, you will be able to buy rewards from Speaker Gulan.

    1.4.3. Gear

Mobs on the island have a chance to drop Timeless pieces of gear, such as [IMG] Timeless Plate Spaulders. Using such an item creates a corresponding item level 496 piece of gear that your current spec can use. There are timeless items for every slot, excluding weapons and trinkets.

In addition, Mistweaver Ai sells [IMG] Timeless Cloth Armor Cache, [IMG] Timeless Leather Armor Cache, [IMG] Timeless Mail Armor Cache, and [IMG] Timeless Plate Armor Cache for 7,500 [IMG] Timeless Coins each.

All these timeless items are account-bound, which means that they are a great way to gear up an alt.

[IMG] Burden of Eternity can be used on a timeless item. This will create a piece of gear with item level 535 (up from 496). Burden of Eternity can be obtained through the following ways:

    • it has a low chance to drop from many mobs around the island;
    • it has a chance to be contained in many chests around the island, including the chests from Master Kukuru;
    • it has a 100% chance to be contained in the Blazing Chest (which you can only open once per character);
    • it is rewarded by the The Archiereus Of Flame quest;
    • it is sold by Mistweaver Ai for 50,000 [IMG] Timeless Coins.
Gear can also be bought with [IMG] Timeless Coins from Mistweaver Ai and with [IMG] Bloody Coins from Speaker Gulan.

    1.4.5. Food
The Noodle Secrets Long Forgotten cooking quest line starts on the Timeless Isle. Eventually, that quest line rewards you with the ability to create [IMG] Noodle Cart Kit, [IMG] Deluxe Noodle Cart Kit, and [IMG] Pandaren Treasure Noodle Cart Kit, which give better raid food buffs than pandaren banquets.

When a player creates a noodle cart, it acts like a vehicle and exiting it causes the cart to disappear (it disappears anyway after a few minutes). So, you need to stay in it until all 10 portions of noodle soup have been taken by players. Each player can hold a maximum of 5 noodle soups (which means that they can store some food for later use).

There are also 25-man versions of these noodle cart kits ([IMG] Grand Noodle Cart Kit, [IMG] Grand Deluxe Noodle Cart Kit, and [IMG] Grand Pandaren Treasure Noodle Cart Kit), but the ability to create them was not granted during the quest line, so we have yet to discover how to obtain these recipes.

    2. Buffs↑top
There are many buffs you can get on the island, which are very helpful.

    2.1. Timeless Nutriment
[IMG] Timeless Nutriment is given by a number of objects on the island: Ripe Crispfruit,Sand-Covered Egg, Charged Crystal, Huge Yak Roast, Roasted Seed, Fire Poppy, Southsea Firebrew. To help you identify them, we made screenshots of them and shared these screenshots below.

    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG][IMG] [IMG] [IMG][IMG]
Two of these objects give an additional buff when you right-click them. Charged Crystals give you [IMG] Strange Energy, while Fire Poppies give you [IMG] Smoldering Spores(which is very useful when farming mobs outside the Ordon Sanctuary).

    2.2. Items
Mobs on the island have a chance to drop these three items: [IMG] Dew of Eternal Morning, [IMG] Book of the Ages, and [IMG] Singing Crystal. Using them causes your damage dealing abilities to have an extra effect.

These items are also rewarded by Path of the Mistwalker daily quest.

    2.3. Time-Lost Shrines
There are many Time-Lost Shrines located around the island. Right-clicking them will grant you a random buff from among: [IMG] Fortitude of Niuzao, [IMG] Wisdom of Yu'lon, [IMG] Chi-Ji's Hope, and [IMG] Xuen's Strength. Obtaining all these buffs (not necessarily at the same time) will grant you the [IMG] Pilgrimage achievement. Instead of granting you a buff, a shrine will sometimes deal a high amount of damage to nearby enemies because it will have been corrupted by Ordos (although there is no way to tell prior to clicking the shrine). Shrines become inactive for 10 minutes after a player interacts with them, meaning that no one else will be able to get a buff from that shrine for 10 minutes.

The map above shows all the locations of all the Time-Lost Shrines we have found. We will update the map, if we find more. Below, you will find the exact coordinates of the shrines.

    1. 22.76, 29.31
    2. 26.69, 52.26
    3. 27.94, 71.91
    4. 30.53, 62.62
    5. 34.92, 29.65
    6. 37.56, 74.18
    7. 43.42, 55.93
    8. 49.70, 70.13
    9. 52.88, 60.69
    10. 58.08, 46.63

    3. Quests↑top
A short introductory quest line leads to the Timeless Isle. It starts with A Flash of Bronze... ([IMG] Alliance / [IMG] Horde), which is automatically given to level 90 characters in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms.

The quest line continues with Journey to the Timeless Isle ([IMG] Alliance / [IMG] Horde) and then with Time Keeper Kairoz ([IMG] Alliance / [IMG] Horde). At this stage, Kairoz will give you two quests A Timeless Tour and Time In Your Hands.

    3.1. Kairoz Quest Line
The Essence of Time leads to Empowering the Hourglass. This weekly quest requires you to gather 50 [IMG] Epoch Stones by killing mobs around the island. We advise you to farm them from Great Turtle Hatchlings on the western coast.

Every time you will empower the hourglass, you will unlock a new part of the quest line, each of them requiring you to use the hourglass at a specific location:

    1. A Vision in Time: Siege of Orgrimmar;
    2. Refining The Vision: Siege of Orgrimmar;
    3. Seeking Fate: Siege of Orgrimmar;
    4. Hidden Threads: Siege of Orgrimmar;
    5. Courting Destiny: Temple of the White Tiger;
    6. One Final Turn: Caverns of Time.
One Final Turn marks the end of the quest line.

    3.2. Emperor Shaohao Quest Line
The quest line started by The Last Emperor is a great way to gain a bit of reputation withEmperor Shaohao. After completing The Last Emperor, you will receive the following quests:

    3.3. Cooking Quest Line
The cooking quest line starts when you find an Old Sign Fragment under the broken bridge on the Timeless Isle (at 52.14, 46.15 to be precise). This item starts the Noodle Secrets Long Forgotten quest, which is followed by The Lost Secret of the Secret Ingredient.

The Lost Secret of the Secret Ingredient requires you to go to the Temple of the Jade Serpent and kill the Sha of Doubt. After killing the Sha, do not exit the instance, because you need to turn in the quest to the scroll in the same room as the Sha. Also, try to get the tank to stay with you, because the next quest, Bad Feeling, Worse Result, requires you to kill an elite mob on the balcony at the end of the room where you fought the Sha of Doubt. To defeat this mob, just avoid all things thrown at you.

After completing Secrets Lost, Forever?, you will receive Secrets Lost, Forever?, which is followed by Catch and Carry. Catch and Carry rewards you with the ability of making [IMG] Noodle Cart Kit and requires you to do the following.

    • Go to the Imperial Granary. There, you will notice a cart with a downward pointing arrow above it. This is where you will need to drop the sacks of grain.
    • At the granary, there are Granary Vandals throwing down sacks of grain. Get under them and use the [IMG] Grain Catching Sack quest item that you were provided with, and catch sacks by position yourself under them as they fall. The quest item gives you a buff that allows you to catch the sacks. Without the buff, you just get damage when a sack lands on you.
    • You can only carry 5 stacks of grain at a time and mounting, taking damage, or using a spell will cause you to lose your stacks. Because of that, you may want to clear the path back to the cart before getting started.
The next quest is Is That A Real Measurement?. It requires you to craft a [IMG] Noodle Cart Kit and to enter the Stormstout Brewery to collect 20 [IMG] Sloshes of Brewfrom the Alementals, who are all located before the last boss.

After that, you will have to complete These Aren't Your Fatty Goatsteaks. This quest requires you to craft a [IMG] Deluxe Noodle Cart Kit and to farm 50 [IMG] Fatty Turtle Steaksfrom the turtles on the Timeless Isle. Killing Great Turtle Hatchlings seems to be the most efficient way of gathering these steaks.

The final quest of the quest line is The Secret Ingredient Is.... Simply enter the scenario and follow the instruction. You will be rewarded with the ability to create [IMG] Pandaren Treasure Noodle Cart Kit.

    5. Shaohao Reputation↑top
Aside from a few quests from Emperor Shaohao, reputation with him is earned solely through killing Ordos mobs on the island. In this section, we are going to list the raw reputation given by each mob (without counting reputation bonuses) before explaining the fastest ways to farm reputation.

    MobsReputation
    Ordon Candlekeeper+5
    Ordon Oathguard and Ordon Fire-Watcher+10
Burning Berserker and High Priest of Ordos+15
Eternal Kilnmaster, Blazebound Chanter, and Molten Guardian+20
Champion of the Black Flame, Cinderfall, Urdur the Cauterizer, Flintlord Gairan, and Archiereus of Flame+40
If you are alone, you are better off farming in the Firewalker Ruins or restricting yourself to the Burning Berserkers in the Blazing Way.

If you are in a party, then you should farm reputation outside the Ordon Sanctuary. Simple sweep the area back and forth (including the western part of the Ordon Sanctuary, which is accessible to everyone). When you die, run to your corpse, otherwise you may have to aggro a lot of mobs on your way back to your group.

Reaching exalted reputation with Emperor Shaohao will grant you the [IMG] Emperor Shaohao achievement.

    6. Rare Elites↑top
    [IMG]
    1. Emerald Gander spawns at various locations around the Celestial Court.
    2. Ironfur Steelhorn spawns at various locations around the Celestial Court.
    3. Great Turtle Furyshell patrols among the turtles on the western shore of the island.
    4. Gu'chi the Swarmbringer spawns around Old Pi'Jiu.
    5. Zesqua spawns off the coast of Pi'Jiu, slightly to the east.
    6. Zhu-Gon the Sour spawns at 37.55, 77.31 after completing the Skunky Beer mini-event at the same location.
    7. Karkanos is summoned by talking to Fin Longpaw at 34.08, 83.84.
    8. Chelon spawns after you inspect the shell at 25.06, 35.98.
    9. Spelurk can be summoned by breaking the cave-in of the Mysterious Den at 59.0, 48.8. A Mage with [IMG] Blink can teleport to the other side of the wall and use the hammer inside the cave to destroy the wall.
    10. Cranegnasher needs to be summoned. At 43.89, 69.89, you will find the corpse of a dead Fishgorged Crane. Inspecting the corpse indicates that these cranes are the favorite food of a creature. This means that you need to kite a live Fishgorged Crane onto the corpse to summon Cranegnasher (you will find these ads just south of the corpse).
    11. Rattleskew spawns after you complete the Battle of the Barnacle mini-event at 60.67, 87.91.
    12. Spirit of Jadefire spawns inside the Caverns of Lost Spirits in the recess on the right, almost facing Zarhym.
    13. Leafmender spawns in the Blazing Way, around the tree at 67, 43.
    14. Bufo spawns in the area filled with Gulp Frogs around 65,65.

    16. Tsavo'ka spawns in Tsavoka's Den at 54.09, 42.40.
    17. Monstrous Spineclaw patrols underwater, off the southern coast of the island.
    18. Imperial Python spawns in various locations around the Celestial Court.
    19. Stinkbraid spawns at 71.58, 81.85, on the deck of the pirate ship.

    21. Watcher Osu spawns in the Firewalker Ruins.
    22. Jakur of Ordon spawns in the Firewalker Ruins.
    23. Champion of the Black Flame are three adds that patrol between the two bridges of the Blazing Way.
    24. Cinderfall spawns on the broken bridge.
    25. Urdur the Cauterizer spawns in the western court of the Ordon Sanctuary.
    26. Flintlord Gairan spawns at various locations around the Ordon Sanctuary.
    27. Huolon flies around the Blazing Way and the Firewalker Ruins.
    28. Golganarr spawns around 62.5, 63.5.
    29. Evermaw is not marked on the map because she swims clockwise around the island.
    30. Dread Ship Vazuvius spawns around 28.8, 24.5. It needs to be summoned at the nearby beach with the [IMG] Mist-Filled Spirit Lantern that drops from Evermaw.
    31. Archiereus of Flame spawns inside the Ordon Sanctuary, so players who do not have the legendary cloak will need to use a [IMG] Scroll of Challenge at the Challenger's Stone (34.4, 32.5).
Rare elites and mini-events that spawn them appear on your mini-map. There is no need to tag them to loot them. For most of them, their health increases as more players join the fight.

Killing all the rare elites grants the [IMG] Timeless Champion achievement.

Sunken Treasure is located inside the sunken ship at 40.0, 94.5. To open it, you will need a [IMG] Barnacle Encrusted Key, which you can loot from one of the nearby Cursed Hozen Swabbies. Inside, you will find a [IMG] Cursed Swabby Helmet, among other things.

Blackguard's Jetsam is guarded by a few hostile pirates inside an underwater cave, the entrance of which is located at 17.07, 57.09.

Gleaming Treasure Satchel is located on the pirate ship at 71.60, 82.91. To reach it, you will need to jump on the ropes, as shown in the screenshot below.

    7.4. Extreme Treasure Hunter

To reach the Gleaming Treasure Chest, which is located at 49.68, 69.41, you need to jump from column to column from the Firewalker Ruins, as depicted in the screenshot below.

To reach the Rope-Bound Treasure Chest, which is located at 53.87, 47.34, you need to jump from rope from the Blazing Way, as depicted in the screenshot below. Players can also use a [IMG] Golden Glider to get there and Mages can use [IMG] Blink.

To reach a Mist-Covered Treasure Chest, you need to use the Gleaming Crane Statue(pictured below), which is located on the stone pillar joining the bridge that leaves from the Blazing Way to the broken bridge. Doing so will throw you in the air (you can control your fall) and you will immediately notice the many platforms around you. Simply choose one with a chest, land on it, and open it.
